Laura Brent receives
Angel of Hospice Award

The Angel of Hospice Award is Providence Hospice and Homecare’s highest honor recognizing service, philanthropy or special accomplishments benefiting Hospice.  Laura Brent received this award after 17 years of continued service in a variety of capacities.  She has been a member of the board of directors for many of those years and has served several times as board chair.

One of Laura’s major passions has been establishing a Hospice Care Center, and she has been untiring in her dedication to that effort, serving on committees and providing her professional expertise as a land use consultant.

She has served on the board’s Nominating Committee and is presently a member of the Resource Development Committee. She chaired last year’s Brunch by the Bay annual special event, which was the most successful in the agency’s history, raising more than $93,000.  Laura is a major donor to the organization and leads by example, engaging members of the community to support the work of Providence Hospice.

We are happy to announce that Dykeman Architects (and their team of consultants) were recognized for their successful site design by the Washington State Chapter of CEFPI; and were awarded a Merit Award.  There were several permitting and design challenges the team overcame during the design and permitting process, including on-site critical areas, blending into the surrounding neighborhood and landscape and a new public road.  Shockey/Brent, Inc. is honored to have been a part of this very successful project by providing permitting and environmental support and management.
